My top mission as an educator is to help my students to explore the power of mathematics through real-world applications arising from various disciplines, develop their passion and skills to enhance our understanding of the world, and finally grow as future leaders to lead their professional or academic fields. In addition, as an active scholar in mathematical biology, I have integrated scholarship to my teaching, from which students could develop an ability of integrating knowledge across disciplines and extending their understanding beyond the classroom. I am fully committed to supporting the Elon Teacher-Scholar-Mentor model by developing and exploring new innovative practices and pedagogies as well as improving them upon student feedback.
