Youth Services provides materials for children ages 0-13.

    Children ready to read on their own can work through this section with three color-coded levels to easily find reading materials.

  • Picture Books

  • Youth
    Children ready to read chapter books will enjoy this section. Examples include: Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Dork Diaries, and the Magic Treehouse.

  • Young Adult
    Content is a bit more mature for children who are ready to tackle these themes. Examples include: Fear Street, Harry Potter, and Percy Jackson.

  • Graphic Novels

  • Nonfiction

  • Audiobooks
    Books that are narrated on a CD. Are you going on a road trip? Take audiobooks with you, and listen to them in the car!

  • Books in a Bag
    Books that come in a handy little bag with a CD companion. Listen to the book while reading it! These are great for struggling or reluctant readers.

  • Magazines

  • Spanish
    We offer a variety of materials in Spanish and bilingual English/Spanish, located in one section for easier browsing.


    Children's movies and music are located across from Youth and next to Circulation.

    Youth Services even has a Listening Center where a group can listen to the same audiobook at the same time!


Curriculum Kits

Curriculum kits are available for checkout for grades K-2 and 3-5. Each kit includes activities and books on one specific topic.

Story Spoons

Tell a story with spoons! Story spoon kits are available for checkout. Each kit includes spoons featuring different characters as well as instructions about how to use the spoons to tell a story.

Leapfrog Tag Systems

These books for toddlers and for primary school-aged children reads the book aloud, which is great for vocabulary learning.

Playaway Views

These handheld video players are preloaded with videos of your favorite stories, topics, and even full length shows and movies.

AWE Computers

These early learning computers contain educational software for young learners.
