Lord, thank you for the beautiful people You’ve made. Thank you for the hearts You’ve
given us for our neighbors. I pray we continue forth in courage, arm in arm, to show the
world the kind of love and mercy You have shown us. I pray for divine protection over
the mothers and fathers who worry. I pray peace over them that comes through Your
presence. I claim with authority that good will always triumph over evil. There is no
darkness that You cannot light up. I pray for advocates to be granted wisdom and
resolve to stand in the face of tyranny and not back down. In Your holy name I pray!
Amen!

John Smith will be our keynote speaker, and as a tireless advocate for Noe Guerrero, will bring us up to date on Noe and his family. Our main program will be to walk through our new case intake and advocacy process, to show how we are helping detainees and their families and where we need more volunteers in this critical work.
Hi, I'm reaching out to you to support American Gateways, an incredible organization dedicated to defending the dignity and human rights of immigrants and refugees. They provide vital legal services, education, and advocacy to those who need it most, making a profound difference in the lives of many across Central Texas.
Your generous donations will help American Gateways continue their vital work by:
Offering no or low-cost legal assistance to individuals facing immigration challenges.
Providing educational resources and advocacy to empower communities and promote awareness.
Every contribution, no matter the size, helps transform lives and builds a brighter, more inclusive future. Please consider donating to support American Gateways' mission and join us in championing human rights for all.

Followers of immigration rights are closely monitoring the case of 28-year-old immigration activist Catalina Santiago, who was detained by U.S. Border Patrol agents Aug. 3 at the El Paso International Airport. Santiago – an indigenous Zapotec from Oaxaca, Mexico – was carrying work authorization documents at the time of her detention but has been held in custody at the El Paso ICE detention facility for more than a month.
Santiagos detention has sparked concern as it highlights the fragility of legal protection for recipients such as her of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), often known as DACA, provides work authorization and temporary protection from deportation, but does not confer legal status. A judge will hear her case on Sept. 10.
