John Dickman was a participant at the Boston Tea Party, and had a number of roles in America's Revolution. He is buried nearby, in Evergreen Cemetery. He was honored with a ceremony in connection with the 250th anniversary of the Tea Party, and HCAM recorded the event.
This cellar hole is on a trail on the Fruit Street property. The foundation of a barn is nearby, and a house nearby on Fruit Street is also shown as belonging to "J. Dickman" on old maps. As recently as 2015, the foundation was filled with old tires and trash, but Scouts and trail volunteers cleaned up the site in a series of workdays. The sign was installed by Harrison Bograd for his Eagle Scout project.
