Scholarship Information:
Majority Scholarship Recipients: Most of our students receive scholarships and priority placement.
Eligibility: Scholarships are available for students from low-income families and/or those who identify as Black, African American, or Indigenous. Find out more about our Scholarship Levels and Eligibility HERE.
New violin students (ages 5-8) will be required to take the String Explorers class to determine their readiness for private lessons.
For Non-Scholarship Students:
If you are not eligible for a scholarship and are interested in paying for lessons, please fill out an Inquiry for Private Lessons form.
We will contact you about available spots in our teaching artists' studios once all scholarship and returning students have been placed.
Group cello classes are reserved for private lesson students of Beth Goldstein-McKee.
The Explorers groups (for Strings and Ukulele) is a program for beginners to try out string instruments. Violin scholarship students will start in String Explorers 1 to evaluate their interest and readiness for private lessons.
SOUND EXPLORERS NEW! This new offering provides a sensory friendly musical experience for friend who identify as neurodivergent. For TERM 1, these classes will happened monthly on every 1st Wednesday.
Tuition paying students, for String and Ukulele Explorers, will pay the teaching artists directly. Register in the Family Portal, add your child to the waitlist, and you will be contacted with more information.
SING & DANCE
Sing & Dance classes are offered in partnership with Shana Simmons Dance Company and Guardians of Sound/Hip Hop Orchestra.
In these classes students are encouraged to have fun while learning how to stretch their voices and their bodies through choreography, dramatic play, and song. We will explore different musical genres, and even write a few songs of our own.
HIP HOP ORCHESTRA
Hip Hop Orchestra (HHO) ensemble is for young musicians, 10-19 years old. The ensemble meets weekly to create, collaborate, produce and perform the music of their own time and place. Instrumentalists, vocalists and MCs, along with young adult mentors and professional teaching artists, combine acoustic instrumentation and vocals with digital music technology to produce its own unique Hip Hop Orchestra sound.
HHO Hip Hop MC & Songwriting class gives young artists, 12-18 years old, a chance to hone their writing and performing skills with Idasa "Soul Man" Tariq
