Creative Movement, all Ballet, Pointe and Jazz classes are taught by Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre instructors. Live accompaniment is provided for all classes with the exception of Jazz
The dance portion of the Sing & Dance classes is taught by Shana Simmons through a partnership with Shana Simmons Dance
ENROLL IN A DANCE CLASS
Log into your existing account in our FAMILY PORTAL or, if you are new, set up an account. This is where you will enroll in classes, workshops and events. Please note, a $30 registration fee is applied to each student except for those who are only taking one of our free classes.
Enroll your child in the class that corresponds with their age on September 21, 2024. Instructors will evaluate students during the first class session and make placement adjustments.

Scholarships at Hope Academy
We reserve at least half of the spots in our classes and private lessons for students from low-income families and/or those who identify as Black, African American, or Indigenous.
Benefits for Scholarship Students:
Priority Placement: Scholarship students are given priority when enrolling in classes and lessons
Tuition Assistance: Financial support to cover tuition costs (on a sliding scale)
Material Resources: Additional resources to support your child's learning experience (dance clothing and shoes, instruments, extra coaching, etc)

Students who were awarded a Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre Community Youth Scholarship will automatically receive a scholarship for Hope Academy's dance program - at the Full Scholarship PLUS level. Please fill out our scholarship application to verify your intent to train at Hope Academy.
If you are applying for a scholarship, set up an account in the FAMILY PORTAL but do not enroll in any classes. We will do that for you once the scholarship has been awarded and accepted.
