TEAMS

Color Guard (CG) is a team which protects and presents the colors of our Battalion and of our nation in a variety of settings like sports events or military events. There is a Varsity and a JV team. 

The practice hours are from 3:45 - 4:45 everyday.

The Armed Drill Team (ADT) is an exhibition team which utilizes demilitarized rifles to do tricks like spinning and throwing the rifles. There is a 4-Man and 10-Man team. 

Practice hours are 3:45 - 4:45 on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday

The Unarmed Drill Team (UDT) is an exhibition team that creates complicated routines that they execute with precision. Unlike the Armed Drill Team, they do not use rifles, but are more like a cheer team. There is a 4-Man and 10-Man team. 

Practice hours are from 3:45 - 4:45 everyday.

The Academic League is a team which tests the knowledge and trivia of the cadets in a Jeopardy-like setting against other schools. The JROTC Leadership & Academic Bowl (JLAB) is a part of the team which comepetes online against schools around the country, culminating in the top schools competing in one final tournament in Washington D.C.

Practice hours are from 3:45 - 5:00 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Best Drilled Squad & Platoon is an armed regulation team which follows a list of commands, practicing drill and ceremony. There is a platoon, consisting of 3 squads, and a squad, consisting of the first squad. 

Practice hours are from 3:45 - 4:45 everyday.

The Youth Physical Fitness team (YPF) is a team that challenges cadets physically, practicing with medicine balls, timed running and other physical things in preparation for the Cadet Challenge, hosted by Hoover.

Archery is a team based on the practices of safety and precision. Cadets practice two days out of the week and compete with other schools. Through team encouragement and self confidence, cadets are able to further extend their skills throughout the school year. In the school year of 2021-2022, Hoover's Archery team competed in the National Competition, held in Utah. To be stated with pride, Hoover placed 4th in the National Competition.

Honor Guard is a ceremonial team that honors the Royal Court during our homecoming games, and also at our annual Cadet Ball with the rest of the SDUSD Brigade.
