ARMY INSTRUCTORS

LTC Ayson is the Senior Army Instructor for the Hoover Army JROTC Program. He is in 7th year teaching JROTC. He is product of the JROTC program graduating from Morse High School in 1993. He was commissioned a 2LT in the Army Reserve in May 1995 after attending the New Mexico Military Institute. His hobbies includes volleyball and working on cars. He coaches the Drill Teams, Robotics Team, Drone Team, and CyberPatriot Team.

1SG Mercado is an Army Instructor at the Hoover High School JROTC Program. He is the longest serving instructor in the San Diego Unified School district teaching in his 23rd year. His hobbies are outdoor adventures and camping. He served 26 years in the Army as Infantry, Armor, and Recruiting. He coaches the Archery team

MSG Ruiz is an Army Instructor at the Hoover High School JROTC Program. He has been teaching JROTC for over 17 years in the San Diego Unified School District. His hobbies includes traveling and soccer. He served 24 years in the Army as Signal and Recruiting. He coaches the Youth Physical Fitness, Raider Team, and Color Guard.
