I cannot keep from taking the opportunity to mention Dr. Kurt Kosbar at MST whose friendship with all us students rubbed off in a very good way...this guy is a treasure trove of anecdotes, perspective and experience in the communications industry...was my only american friend while i was at MST...a few of us used to affectionately call him "godfather" as we thought of him as the Don Corleone of the communications group...if anyone ever wants to know anything about communications theory and how to translate it into practice talk to this guy...we all wanted to grow up to be like him...and i kept telling all of them to be better than him...not just be him ...!!!
Over the years, we students at the then UMR Electrical Engineering department, look back and realise how important it was to be treated as equals with pretty much any other student on campus...we had the good grace to have a good teacher and lead in both good times and tough times...truth be told...we never felt like we didn't have a door to knock on for advise as long as this guy was around.
On a more personal note, being ten thousand miles away from home was a learning experience in itself...but to have a bit of professionalism drilled into oneself at an early age was best done under his guidance...if you are a prospective student at MST and wish to run through rigours of educational life there in the Electrical Engineering department...i suggest you try to be a communications student simply because he still teaches there.
If you have read this page and are a student...i suggest http://ece.mst.edu/~kosbar/
I apologise to all relevant entities for this page showing up on Google's search engine...i had honestly never searched for "kurt kosbar mst" until someone pointed it out...!!!

My two bits of logic for future students: The American "Dream" (profile this...!!! :) )
I got an email from someone@umr.edu a few months ago...of course it was deleted before i could read it...man you guys are still having way too much fun at that end of town...i thought giving an email tool would make one understand the importance of protecting the sanctity of the channel...but no...i give them a gun and they point it at themselves and pull the trigger to go "kaboom"...if you know what i mean :)
Christmas reading...should have technically done this one a looooong time ago :)
