I am a resident of Hollister. I urge you to vote "NO" on all new proposals to extend Hollister's sewage system to more housing developments outside of Hollister city limits -- at Fairview, Ridgemark, Union, Buena Vista, etc.

You are simply giving away our city's valuable sewer service to developers. On June 20, 2023, you extended sewer service to 1,084 houses outside of Hollister at the San Juan Oaks golf community and also gave the developer a 53% discount that's worth $4.5 million. 

You're rewriting the Hollister General Plan to accommodate developers by (1) expanding the sphere of influence so thousands more houses can be built outside of Hollister city limits, and (2) cutting affordable housing requirements from 20% to 15%.

More houses will lead to more traffic and more overcrowded schools. And west side residents will get more smelly sewage & more sewer cockroaches.

In 2008, Hollister residents paid $120 million to build our sewage system. Now, you're forcing us to take on the future costs of upgrading and maintaining our city's sewer system for thousands of houses outside of Hollister city limits.

This is a crappy deal for Hollister residents! 

Stop working for developers and start working for us! We need more affordable housing for local residents! Not more luxury houses for Silicon Valley workers.
