Voice of the Westside
Hollister Guardians Action is our sister group and also an FPPC committee that focuses on holding the Hollister Mayor and City Council accountable. They are helping to collect petition signatures for an Urban Growth Boundary measure for Hollister. Learn more about their work at www.HollisterGuardiansAction.org.
Hollister Guardians PAC is a small group of activists who work on campaigns for local candidates. They will create an FPPC committee later, but they have not yet spent $2,000. They mostly volunteer for various candidate campaigns.
Hollister Guardians is a 501c3 nonprofit, sponsored by Ecologistics. Our focus is education and empowerment of underserved Westside residents.
Hollister Guardians also works to improve the quality of life of Westside residents. We brought large groups of Westside residents to many Hollister City Council meetings to remind the Mayor and Councilmembers that they need to listen to the concerns of the Westside community who feel that they have been ignored.
We help residents who live in the Westside voice their concerns about the sewer facility and about the Sandman Mine (at San Benito River).
We also work to enrich the cultural life of Westside residents by supporting the celebration of cultural events (Dia de los muertos, las Posadas, Dia de los Ninos, etc.)
