Reflection
Reflection
The connection between what I learned in this class and my classroom experience was difficult to make. The class seemed to be focused on creating stand alone online instruction which I am philosophically opposed to for secondary education. While I will go to the internet to learn task specific skills and information that I am interested in or need to know, I despise assigned learning through videos and slides on the Internet without instructor and peer interaction. My primary interaction with these learning situations is usually a link in an email from Human Resources. I am currently avoiding such a task right now for my summer job as a Mad Science camp instructor.

With that said, I have been put in charge of creating the curriculum for an interdisciplinary course at my school. I have found that I have to rely on ADDIE and other design models in order to create materials that the other teachers can implement without my intervention. This is not an easy task, and without this class and Designing Online Learning, I would fall remarkably short of success. Below is a link to the website that I have started to support the unit for next semester. There are sub pages for the all school read and the project. I have also included my portion of the instructional design project done for this class.
