This reforestation project on Hawaiʻi Island, initiated in 2006 to mitigate habitat loss for Palila, manages over six-thousand acres of land spanning the high-elevated dry forest areas.They monitor, restore and focus on regenerating the native forests to maintain natural health.

A community led project that quite literally restored an entire area from the land to the sea in Heʻeia, successfully replenishing and restoring the health of their groundwater. This project highlighted the importance of community and focused in on Native Hawaiian values.
