Ho'iho'i i Ka 'Āina

Here, at Hoʻihoʻi i ka ʻĀina, we base our restoration projects on four main types of land maintence and restoration.

We do a lot of restorative projects, focusing on areas of Oʻahu that have the least projects or arenʻt being worked on whatsoever. These are some types of restoration that we use in this events, so you can know more about us and what our goals are. Habitat Creation

Using environmental sciences and Native Hawaiian practices, we focus on bringing back natural species and cultivate its environment to nurse it to full health. We restore Native forests and ensure that the habitats are able to come back to full health.

Invasive Species Removal

We use targeted practices such as biological controls or public tracking to remove invasive bugs, animals, and wildlife.

Watershed Protection

Protecting native forests that supply our natural water supplies are a large focus here at Hoʻihoʻi i ka ʻĀina. We use methods like weed management and fencing to protect the forests to be able to maintain our water sources and to attract more fresh water.

Forest Protection

We practice conserving biodiversity, cultural preservation and invasive species eradication overall in this method of restoration to fully maintain all native forests, not just watersheds.
