A Storied Past

Founded over a millennium ago by four of the most powerful and visionary witches and wizards—Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Salazar Slytherin—Hogwarts was created with one goal: to provide young witches and wizards a place to safely study magic and hone their magical abilities. Each founder brought their own ideals and values to the school, and to this day, students are sorted into one of the four legendary Houses, reflecting the unique qualities valued by their founders.

The Gryffindor House honours bravery and daring, while Ravenclaw prizes wisdom and learning. Hufflepuff celebrates loyalty and hard work, and Slytherin values ambition and cunning. This unique blend of diversity has allowed Hogwarts to flourish for centuries, providing a nurturing environment for all students, no matter where their talents or passions lie.
