We will be focusing on the fifth-grade program using the Our Mission of Love from the Image of God Series. This year’s program emphasizes three areas of faith: Christ, the Church and the sacraments. At the end of each class, your child will bring home a family note that explains the focus of each lesson in the unit. This supplement includes family activities that reinforce the lessons taught in class. I encourage you to read this material and take the time to complete the family activities.

THIS MONTH

In October, we are going to explore what makes each of us unique, how we make choices that are rooted in faith, the meaning and purpose of the commandments as well as what is looks like growing up as children of God.

What is something about you that makes you wonderfully unique, and how do you think God uses that gift in your life?
When you have a choice to make, what helps you decide what’s right? I can share how I try to make good choices too.
Which of the commandments feels most connected to your everyday life, and why?
Growing up means learning new responsibilities. What’s one responsibility you’re proud of handling well lately?
Can you think of a moment when you felt God guiding you—maybe in a choice, a friendship, or a challenge?
What’s one way our family can help each other follow God’s commandments with love and joy?
