2nd Grade Gatherings

It’s Donut and Ice Cream Time Join us at Cold Front on Sunday, April 19th 10:30am noon to eat donuts and ice cream and dance the sillies out!! We have the whole place to our selves...Pajama’s encouraged.

10:30a - 12p

Let's celebrate spring and all the fun we had in school this year! Get your kiddo out into the fresh air and sunshine for a happy hike with their friends while you luxuriate in time for yourself (optional: join us on our hike!). We'll start out with playtime at beautiful Minnehaha Park, then enjoy a hike down to Minnehaha Falls to gaze in wonder at this glorious 53-foot waterfall, hear the roar of the water and feel the mist on our faces. Next, we’ll take the kids for a leisurely walk along Minnehaha Creek and carefully observe nature as we walk. Finally, we'll stop at a picnic table to rest, enjoy healthy snacks, read nature-themed picture books and blow bubbles! The kids will have plenty of time to play and relax outdoors together, all under our careful supervision. We'll provide the hike, fun and snacks – just drop off your child with a water bottle and appropriate footwear, then enjoy two hours to yourself. (Note: Since this is an outdoor event, in case of inclement weather, we’ll work with families to find a different date.)

Celebrate a fun year of 2nd Grade with your fellow classmates! Join us at the Highland Park Picnic Shelter (near Montreal Ave. & Edgecumbe Ave.) to play on the playground, play yard games, and eat pizza! All 2nd Grade families are welcome! In the case of inclement weather, this great gathering will be scheduled for later in the summer. No drop offs, please.

11:30a - 2p

Current 2nd Graders are invited to join their friends for a pizza, games, and movie night. Movie will be selected by the group from the commonsense media best movies for elementary age kids list. Parents enjoy an evening out!

5 - 8p

Drop-off your soon to be 2nd and 3rd Graders (siblings welcome) to enjoy an evening of bounce house activity hosted by our very own Horace Mann Girl Scout Troop #57748. We will grill hot dogs and have sides and let your kids burn off all of that summer time energy.

5:30-7:30p

Celebrate the new school year with 2020-21 Third Grade Families! It is a great tradition to start the school year as we start the second half of our students time at HM. Enjoy an ice cream social with all the fixings at the Horace Mann playground. No drop offs, please.
