Family Gatherings

You know you want to have professional photos of your kids. Here is your chance and it couldn't be easier! Ashley Rick of St. Paul Photo Company (https://stpaulphotoco.smugmug.com/) will take your child(ren)s pictures in the comfort of a HM family home and all you have to do is show up. Ashley expertly takes beautiful pictures of your child(ren) for 5 minutes. Have more than one kid? Sign up for additional sessions (3 kids sign up for 3 sessions). Stay and have a drink and snack or take off to your next activity. Ashley will send you all the curated pictures she takes, and you can pick your favorites. Buy one or buy them all. Sign up includes one five minute session and an edited gallery hosted by SmugMug. Images available for purchase for $25 or five for $100. Like the whole gallery? Purchase for $250 and additional galleries for $25.

Calling all fathers, grandfathers or that special person: Do you know a little girl that loves to dance? This is your chance to dress up and spend the evening dancing the night away at the Horace Mann Elementary school gym. Cupcakes are abundant and punch will keep you hydrated. The photo booth will capture the moment- both serious and fun poses are encouraged. There will even be a craft and games if your legs tire from all the dancing. It's a night not to be missed!

We will be crafting our own unique floral arrangements just in time for Mother's Day! Choose your own blooms and container and get inspired to create something special and beautiful to take home at this kids-only event. We'll enjoy light snacks as we craft our arrangements. Attendees will go home with their floral masterpiece and a treat.

Calling all wizards and witches! It's time for the second annual Harry Potter Party! We will have Hogwarts activities and projects, dinner and then viewing of the second Harry Potter film. You can drop your child off for this magical experience and 4.5 hours babysitting for you!

3 - 7:30p

The 2020 Horace Mann Summer Olympics are on! Your child will participate in Olympic activities and have treats after their feats of accomplishments. No previous olympic sporting experience needed - just school aged kids that are willing to listen to coaches as they work together to go for the Gold. You are welcome to drop off your child, or stay with them and cheer them on to the finish line!

The Sheridan Story is a Minneapolis-based non-profit that works to combat hunger by filling the gaps to food access that children face: primarily weekends and summers. During our two-hour shift, we will pack food into bags that will be delivered to families who otherwise don’t have enough food to make a nutritious meal over the weekend. It’s fun, fast-paced, and a great opportunity to provide a necessary service to our community. You can sign up as a family, or if you just want to drop your child(ren) for the two hours you can do that too! We will try to organize some carpooling for those who need it, as well.

Join other Horace Mann families for a weekend of camping at Afton State Park. We have a primitive group site that accommodates RV's, tents and trailers. S'mores provided, and we'll have Stone Soup on Saturday evening cooked over the open fire - families provide other meals for themselves. 4p - 10a

Mile 25! Marathon Viewing Open House for Families

Come as a family and cheer on the runners in your life or the thousands of amazing people who choose to run 26.2 miles. We have a large porch for viewing and can be in and out of the house if the weather is not cooperative. Be inspired by the runners while enjoying a brunch and Bloody-Mary Bar. Kids can make signs, eat, track HM runners, and enjoy a kiddie cocktail while screaming as loud as they want outside while still having access to a bathroom. Come and go as you please at this Open House Great Gathering.
