We will collaborate with the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, one of the most prestigious and historical non-profit organisations in Hong Kong, to create a set of materials for the Federation’s public outreach. This campaign mainly introduces the negative impacts of drugs (namely ketamine and cannabis) to brains in terms of cognitive, motor and molecular aspects. Not only is this a preventive education, we also hope to instil the essence of scientific research into adolescents by exposing them to microscopes and research techniques underlying the materials and findings.
We will invite distinguished guests and professors in the field of neuroscience for talks, discussing their research findings and stimulating the scientific mind set of students.
During the meeting, the organisational structure, human resources, arrangement of activities and other chapter-related issues will be discussed and resolved.
Newsletter in the form of eBlast (officially distributed by the SfN) is an important channel of communication with all members of the chapter. It includes recent updates of the chapter, exciting new research published in Hong Kong and international neuroscience news.
