由香港中文大學和香港理工大學主辦 及 香港舞蹈醫學及科學學會和香港演藝學院協辦的【舞蹈醫學2021】已順利舉行!


感謝世界各地的醫學界專業人士及講者為我們詳細探討舞蹈醫學及作出舞者體能的多方面評估。希望不久將來再可以向大家分享有關舞蹈醫學的資訊!


【 Dance Medicine 2021 】, organized by the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and co-organized by the Hong Kong Association of Dance Medicine and Science and Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts was held with success!

We would like to thank you once again for all the wonderful international and local guest speakers, helpers, and our participants for joining us and making today a great opportunity to promote awareness of dancers’ health within our community! Hope to see you all again soon!

Dance Medicine 2021

[Dance Medicine 2021] organized by The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) & The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), and co-organized by The Hong Kong Association of Dance Medicine and Science (HKADMS) & the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA), will be held at the end of this month!

The association sincerely invites medical professionals from all over the world to present seminars on various dance medicine topics. Dancers who participate in this event will also have the opportunity to experience different assessments of dancers' body composition and physical fitness. Injury Prevention Workshop - HKYAF

Our president, Mr. Henry Lam, and Exe Com Miss Stacey Yeung gave two amazing and inspiring dance injury prevention workshops to young dancers under the Youth Assistant Choreographers (YAC) Summer Programme!! It is a great opportunity to introduce and raise awareness of dance medicine and science to dancers of all abilities and backgrounds in Hong Kong.

Thank you, Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation (HKYAF), for inviting us, and we hope to see you all again next year!

【舞蹈世界盃 - 舞蹈科學研討會】

香港舞蹈醫學及科學學會於 2019 年 2 月 9 日舞蹈世界盃中成功舉辦「舞蹈科學研討會」,為本港

舞者講解舞蹈常見之傷患、以及有效預防方法。當中客席講師包括:

1. 香港舞蹈醫學及科學學會主席林漢威先生以物理治療師角度示範如何以正確

貼療法 (Taping) 幫助舞者作保護、放鬆等作用。


2. 香港中文大學醫學院矯形外科及創傷學系臨床助理教授凌家健醫生講解急性

創傷 (Acute Injury) 後如何正確處理傷患,以及何時應盡早尋求醫生或物理治

療師的專業意見。


3. 香港舞蹈醫學及科學學會副主席黃宇樂博士以物理治療師角度講解舞者之常見傷患(包括

背部、膝蓋、腳踝等)(Injury Pattern),以及其傷患之風險因素 (Risk factors) 與如何預防舞

蹈受傷。


4. 威爾斯親王醫院駐院骨科醫生彭亨利醫生講解舞者背痛之常見原因,

包括肌肉、椎間盤、神經、以及脊椎骨等的勞損或傷患。


5. 香港演藝學院資深講師 Mr Brenton Surgenor 講解舞蹈與體能,

並介紹各種適合舞者的訓練方法。


6. 瑜伽、普拉提導師以及健身教練 Yennes 與舞者親身示範如何透過

自我訓練维持正確身體姿勢 (Body Alignment) 以及提升舞蹈表現。


在眾客席講師講解後,觀眾亦於問答環節踴躍發問,並由數位講師悉心解答


World Dance Cup – Dance Science Seminar

“World Dance Cup – Dance Science Seminar” organized by the Hong Kong Association of Dance Medicine and Science (HKADMS) was successfully held on February 9, 2019. In hopes of ultimately preventing further injuries in local dancers, honorable guest speakers were invited to share with the audience common dance injuries as well as their corresponding preventive measures.

Guest speakers and their presenting topics were as follows:

1. Mr. Henry Lam (President, HKADMS) – “Dance Taping”.

Taping methods with strengthening, protective, as well as relieving

purposes were illustrated via live demonstration with dancers.


2. Dr. Samuel Ling (Clinical Asst. Professor of Orthopaedics & Traumatology,

Chinese University of Hong Kong Faculty of Medicine) – “Acute Injuries in Dancers”.

In addition to introducing basic concepts of managing acute dance injuries, indications of when

dancers should seek medical advice were also explored in the presentation.


3. Dr. Arnold Wong (Asst. Professor of Rehabilitation Science, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University) –

“Dance Injury Patterns”. Common conditions in dancers including knee, ankle and back injuries

were introduced, alongside their risk factors, corresponding treatments as well as preventive

measures.


4. Dr. Henry Pang (Orthopaedics and Traumatology Resident, Prince of Wales Hospital) –

“Back Pain in Dancers”. Different etiologies of back pain in dancers were deciphered

at multiple levels, including injury and/or degeneration of muscles,

intervertebral discs, spinal column, and nerves, etc.


5. Mr. Brenton Surgenor (Senior Lecturer in School of Dance,

the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts) – “Dancers and Fitness”.

In addition to introducing basic components of dance fitness, common myths

regarding dancers together with strengthening and endurance training protocols

were explored.


6. Miss Yennes Fong (Professional Yoga and Pilates Instructor, Physical Trainer) –

“Body Alignment in Dancers”. Specific training exercises in enhancing

self-awareness on body alignment were analyzed in a stepwise approach through live

demonstration with dancers.

Dance World Cup is the leading international dancing event in which thousands of dancers from around the world participate in a variety of competitions. This competition includes 11 genres and all age groups are involved.

Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation (HKYAF)

Our sharing on dance injury prevention to the teens in Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation (HKYAF) on 11 October 2018. They are young, energetic and lovely dancer and choreographer.


We checked on proper posture and general hypermobility, taught conditioning exercise, reinforced importance of warm up and cool down and shared on injury prevention. Wish they continue to bright with injury free.
