Once in a Lifetime

standing as an individual
after years of solitude while being SURROUNDED
i realize my singularity bothers some
so sorry to be bothersome
but how i carry myself, is how heavy or light as i please;
i step with my feet upon a sky of glitter
my wordplay unlike others,
my talents,
my actions,
yet, i hold myself above no one.
A humble goddess walking among men,
my arrival to YOUR life, is a celebration
my departure a funeral,
to what you know
who you’ve been accustomed to
everything you are
my admiration diminished,
my words no longer spoken
your glass no longer filled by the drink you never knew that you needed
dying of thirst from something you never thought to explore before
once in a lifetime,
that's what i carry
i touch every mind that i pass
permanently,
my image etched into the very fabric of your being
the source of composure in complete chaos
i am once in a lifetime.
