This plant is a California Buckeye, and as its name suggests, this kind of Buckeye only grows in California. These tend to have a few trunks, and grow on dry slopes and in canyons. They have nice white flowers in May and usually lose them by July. They also have large seeds that are poisonous hanging from it until late fall. Also, when acorns were hard to come by, Native Americans would eat Buckeye.
