All this grass here is a type of foxtail grass. Be careful if you have a dog to not let it roam around in it because there is a certain form, the Hordeum, that might be problematic when it's barbed seed heads get in their ears, nostrils, and in between the toes. Also, you should be careful as they tend to stick to your clothes and poke through your socks. However, it was mowed down some time ago as a fire prevention effort.
