Who am I and why do I do it...?😜
I started to write this Bio about myself but I have come to the conclusion that I can't tell my story without including the story of how I came to be here, So here it goes... The short version.
Not so long ago my life was a mess. I won't go into the dirty details..
However at the turning point in My life when I needed help the most My Mentor and his amazing wife agreed to take me in and show me the ropes on cannabis cultivation and off grid living so I moved to this tiny little community in Northern California. Now this wasn't your average small town community. Not only was it full of mom and pop cannabis gardens but it was full of Mom's and Pop's. Such amazing, unique and Wonderful People who have been growing cannabis outdoors the same way for years and years. I felt I had died and gone to cannabis heaven. It wasn't long before my support system was more than I could have imagined and before I knew it I was clean off of all drugs and Working toward a goal of getting my life back on track. A few months after being there my mentor planted a seed in my head. As an artist he thought I would enjoy photography. Something till that moment I had never considered. Two photos in and I was hooked. I spent the next year eating, sleeping and breathing cannabis photography.. This place had taught me to cultivate cannabis but also taught me to cultivate myself..5 years later This colorful world of cannabis is where I call home. And as such I have gained access to some of the prettiest cannabis I have ever seen. Grown by some of the COOLEST people ive ever had the joy of knowing. Don't get me wrong. This is California..some of the worlds best cannabis is grown here! There is a pluthera of Indoor set ups and big corporate greenhouses to photograph.
.but here in this tiny community snuggled away from the rest of the world is where I fell in LOVE with this plant and its endless possibilities.
People ask me all the time what fancy equipment I use but the reality is, I use NONE. Just A LOT of time in the Sun with the endless colors of cannabis. I will kill days in a garden, shooting this way and that way. Spending hours walking Up and down hills. Just to get that perfect shot.
For some people cannabis is seen as a "drug" but here in my tiny community its the foundation that brings us all together, and for myself it is a reminder that the possibilities are endless if your willing to cultivate yourself and put in the work.
Every photo I take is more than just a reflection of my almost religious adoration for cannabis. It's a snap shot in time showing the love and dedication that these small town farmers have for this plant. The kind of love that takes years and years to perfect. The kind of love that is Vivid and Colorful and the kind of love that saved my life.
