True OG

I was able to ask the head grower Matt Casey a few questions about Truro Cannabis and their growing methods.

Truro Cannabis has recently completed upgrades to both of our current facilities - now operating with LED’s in all rooms. We use salt-based nutrients, and additional organic nutrients are used in combination with soil-less semi-organic medium with fully-automated climate control – all which ensure the best quality product possible.

We currently hand-trim, hand-weigh, and hand-package our Truro dried flower, and allow the product to cure for 21 - 29 days in a giant purpose-built humidor.

What inspired your unique packaging?

When first becoming a Licensed Producer, we noticed a lack of quality packaging for flower products in the Canadian marketplace. Product would arrive completely dried out and unpleasant to combust. At Truro, we wanted to change that and supply the customer with the best experience possible. This meant reducing oxygen content to 2 – 3 % inside of the package. The product could now arrive with the proper moisture levels (and that moisture being maintained while packaged). We also wanted a package that customer could reuse time and time again. The food-grade organisol-lined aluminum cans are easily washed and reused (or recycled

What is your personal favourite strain that Truro Cannabis grows?

My personal favourite would have to be our Wedding Mint (Wedding Cake X Kush Mints 11), due to a truly spectacular flavour profile. This strain is also an absolute pleasure to grow with its large stacked colas.

Are you launching any new cultivators or products in the near future?

We are currently working on phenotyping the following: Larry Breath, LA Kush Cake, Hidden Pastry, and MAC X Cheese. This is a lengthy process, as we run 25 to 30 phenos per genotype.

Our Bubble Hash has been an outstanding product (currently available in Nova Scotia and Saskatchewan) coming in at 47 to 52% THC. We are currently waiting for other provinces to list this fantastic extract product for all Canadians can enjoy!

We are very excited for release of three different soft gel varieties. 2.5 : 2.5, 10 : 10, and 1 : 25. These are unique, not only being a soft gel, but we use hemp oil as the carrier!
