Title: A Perfect Mismatch
Grade: 8
"This piece of art uses a rather simplistic style and colors, reminiscent of a cartoon. We see that a dog and a cat, 2 animals that are known for constantly fighting, are sitting peacefully at an arch made out of trash. The dog's and cat's differences are further accentuated by the colors they have, the dog having none at all."

Title: Beauty in Brokenness
Grade: 4
"Beauty in Brokenness was inspired by Kintsugi. Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing or fixing broken pottery with gold. This art is based on a mug I have at home. My art and Kintsugi symbolize the imperfection of life. By putting the pieces together with gold, I think it not only fixes it, but it also makes it more beautiful and adds character to the pottery. Kintsugi teaches us that in life, mistakes are not perfect, but they are part of life, and we must accept them."

Title: Shattered
Grade: 5
"In this picture, the woman sees only a part of herself that appears imperfect and wrecked. She focuses on her flaws and the aspects of her life that don’t seem right. However, as she takes a moment to reflect, she begins to understand that imperfection is a natural part of life. She realizes that everyone has struggles and challenges, and these experiences shape who we are. She learns to appreciate her life, recognizing that each moment, whether good or bad, continuing to enjoy the everyday of the life."
Primary Division (TK-Grade 2)

Title: Traffic Jam
Grade: 2
"The bad cars and the police cars make the traffic jam. The brown car is too close to the green car in the front and almost crashes it. There is fire going on and lots of smoke. This is a chaotic situation, but it happens every day on freeway. Accepting imperfection means even things don't go the way we planned, people still move on."
