The Obelisk represents greatness and the connection between heaven and earth. A draped cloth can often be seen on an obelisk as a symbol representing the transition or the crossing into death.

The Felled Tree is a unique symbol as it is only found on the footstone of the Warn Family grave. It represented the death of that line of the family tree.

The Dove is a symbol of peace and represents the Holy Spirit. If the dove is depicted flying upwards, it represents the soul ascending to heaven. If it is flying downwards, it represents the Holy Spirit arriving to the baptism of Jesus.

The Angel pointing upwards or with its wings outstretched represents guiding the soul to heaven. If the angel has its head bowed, it represents the grief of an unexpected death. If an angel is crying, it's representing grief over the death of a loved one.

The Scroll symbolises a person's life; the past is rolled up at the top, the present/moment of death is on display, and the future yet to be revealed, in the afterlife, is rolled up. A scroll may also represent honour, a memorial, or the Bible and other religious texts.

The Fellowship of First Fleeters Plaque identifies the gravesite of any person that was a member of the First Fleet, whether they were a convict, an officer, or part of the crew on any of the ships. The Fellowship of the First Fleeters is an organisation of descendants of the First Fleet.
