Teaching
ME 681
Finite and Boundary Element Methods
A fundamental treatment of the mechanics principles, element formulation techniques, and numerical solution methods to enable advanced understanding of linear and nonlinear finite element analyses. The course will also provide a brief introduction to boundary element method.
ME 612
Continuum Mechanics
An exact, unified mathematical formulation of the mechanics of solids and fluids, dealing with the conservation laws of mass, momentum and energy. The course will also talk about the constitutive equations of elastic, hyperelastic and viscoelastic materials, and viscous fluids.
ME 571
Reliability-based Design
Enables students to understand the importance of reliability in the design and manufacture of engineered products, components and systems. The methods of reliability analysis and reliability-based design of mechanical and electronic systems are presented with illustrative examples.
