Braiding & Textured Hairstyling
Gel Nail Art & Nail Tech Skills
The Hairstyling and Aesthetics program at HPSS has been given the honour of being granted funding from the Community Centred Experiential Learning (CCEL) department at the TDSB. For our CCEL project, 'Black Entrepreneurship & Brand Building in the Hairstyling & Aesthetics field’ students collaborate and work closely with black female skilled tradespeople and entrepreneurs in the Hairstyling & Aesthetics industry. We have worked with Krystal Tash from Hush Doll Hause Salon. Krystal is CEO, as well as a Braiding and Textured Hair Specialist and educator. Students learned textured hairstyles and entrepreneurship skills. We have also worked with Jasmine Balaga, the owner of Canvas Nail Studio. Jasmine is a senior nail technician/CEO as well as a college level educator. Students have learned advanced nail art techniques/ skills, as well as entrepreneurship in the aesthetics field. In addition, we have worked with Catherine Chambers owner and educator from 'Let’s Make It,' a spa product workshop company, to create natural skin-care products.
