For this project, I had to pick an emerging technology (currently developing/expected to grow) that I am interested in and learn more about it by doing research.
While I was looking at the different types of emerging technologies, I came across digital technologies, which I thought was interesting. I've never heard of Digital Twins. I asked myself that sounds interesting, what is it? What does it do? How does it work?
One interesting fact I learned about Digital twins is that they can predict problems BEFORE they happen! So, because a digital twin is constantly getting data, it can notice changes early. For example, NASA uses digital twins to monitor spacecraft. So if the digital version is showing that something is overheating/wearing out, engineers can fit it before the real one ruins.
I've always enjoyed doing projects like these, because it forces me to learn about one specific thing in detail and I feel that I really did learn a lot about Digital Twins. It's really cool to think about when I first started this project, I had no idea what a digital twin was, and now that I have finished it, I feel that I am very knowledgable about this topic!
