In this project, I had to look up 2 examples of how information security is shared by the media.
In Brockton, Massachusetts, Signature Healthcare has diverted ambulances after a cyberattack caused significant disruptions. Pharmacies were even unable to fill prescriptions due to this attack. In result of this, Chemotherapy infusion services were canceled, and even patients were notified about some delays. Walk-in emergency services were still available as well as Impatient care, Surgeries, and Procedures. Signature Healthcare has not confirmed if it was a ransomware attack or if the attacker had any motives. Also, many healthcare organizations have experienced disruptive cyberattacks in these past recent years, and still unclear about what their motives are. Because there is not much information about what specifically happened, one way I would prevent a cyberattack is by making sure classified information is "classified", for example, making sure the websites used are evaluated as well as not giving any websites/apps permissions.

This article talks about how identity theft is very common especially when a loved one dies, their identity is usually stolen. With 2.5 million deceased Americans have their identities stolen annually, and these people were specifically targeted because they have died. In the aftermath, these families have to try to recover these accounts and prove their authority to different institutions with different requirements, which could take months.

One thing that I did notice when researching these cyberattacks is how much this happens in the world, I guess I am pretty naive about what happens in the world, especially about how dangerous cyberattacks can be.
