My name is Evelien Hommes-Romonesco. I have been happily married for 12,5 years. I am a mother of two. My eldest is a son and the youngest is a daughter. As a family we mostly travel to France. During the holidays we stay on the camping or go for hikes.
I am a physics teacher, but I also teach science and technics.
Besides that I am also a board member of the Amara Foundation. And my favourite African animal is a Giraffe
In 2018 I was standing on a rooftop in Kisumu, Kenya, overlooking lake Victoria and ready to go home. The thing that popped in my mind back then as a teacher and a board member, was that I would love to show this world to the students. Almost 2 years later I am very proud to say we will take off to Kisumu with our pilot expedition group.
I really hope this expedition will enrich the lives of the students who will travel along as an expedition member. I hope they are able to help the people over there, but equally important will learn a lot from the Kenyan people and the Kenyan way of life.
