Erika Youngblood has worked in the field of Transition since starting her teaching career in San Diego County, California in 2011. She has worked as a Transition Specialist for students aged 18-22 in a traditional Adult Transition Program at brick and mortar public schools.
Erika received her Master's degree in 2014 for Special Education with an emphasis in Transition and Autism.

Amy has worked in special education for 22 years, with 3 years working as a paraprofessional before getting her first teaching job. She worked for 3 years as a tutor/mentor for at risk teens while also working as a job developer and job coach, and began teaching transition full time in 2019.
Amy particularly enjoys working with students on independent living skills and shared that she loves the support and resources we are able to provide to students and families when preparing them for life after high school. She finds the self-advocacy piece of transition to be so important for students and something that she loves focusing on in her lessons.

Ben began his career in special education in 2006 as a Paraeducator at Fresno Unified in a 1st-3rd grade Mild-Moderate classroom. This lead to becoming a reading interventionist, in-home support specialist, substitute teacher, and finally a SPED teacher. Just over 15 years later, he still has a deep passion for supporting students in reaching challenging goals.
Ben has specialized training in the area of Horticultural Therapy, along with his Education Specialist Credential, and shared that the therapy focuses on access to plant based or horticultural activities to improve human well-being across settings. In the area of Transition, Ben has worked with students with Moderate to Severe disabilities for Heartland the past three years. He also has experience working with various service providers such as Regional Centers, Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Department of Rehabilitation (DOR), and In Home Supportive Services (IHSS) to coordinate services for transition aged students.
