To present, Scholars must submit an abstract of no more than 250 words by August 29, 2025. All Scholars registered for the conference are eligible to present. Timely abstract submission is necessary to be scheduled onto a presentation panel. If you have questions about submission, please reach out to Ashley Cervantes (ashley.cervantes@wichita.edu) OR Kari Azevedo (kazevedo@ucmo.edu), and they'll gladly assist. At this time, we are not accepting abstract submissions from new registrants.
Presenters will be scheduled in 15-minute blocks of time to present and answer questions. Presenters should prepare a 10- 12-minute oral presentation with a slide deck to visually support talking points.
Presenters are placed on panels with 2-3 others with related research topics.
Staff moderators will be present to introduce each presenter, keep time, facilitate Q&A, and award certificates and scholarship raffle vouchers.
After finishing the presentation, the remainder of each presenter's 15-minute block will be used to take and answer questions.
Slide deck format is flexible: PowerPoint, Prezi, Google Slides, etc. (though a format relying on internet connection can be unreliable).
Laptops and projectors are provided in each presentation room. Presenters should not expect to use their own laptops. Changing laptops eats too much time.
Slides should be saved to a flash drive and an online location like email or a cloud site in case one source fails. Using a relatively empty flash drive can prevent issues opening the flash drive on the room's laptop.
Moderators should arrive early to ensure that the computer is turned on, logged in, and ready for students to pull up their presentation.
Presenters should arrive early to their assigned room to load slides from Sched before their session begins.
No clickers will be provided, and bringing a clicker is discouraged. Clicker interference can progress slides for presenters in other rooms. Presenters can request for someone in the room to forward slides so that they can move more freely.
Scholars who present will receive a slip to enter into a scholarship drawing.
Five (5) scholarships of $250 awarded
All 2025 conference presenters are eligible
No application required for a scholarship
Scholars do not have to be present at the drawing to win
(we know some flights leave early)
