What is REIKI?
a relaxation technique with Japanese origin. Reiki is a type of energy healing, that can help to clear or balance energy that can stagnate in the body where there has been physical injury or even emotional trauma. Independent research has shown that Reiki promotes relaxation, can relieve stress and anxiety, reduce pain and improve general well being. This treatment uses light touch to help the body initiate the “relaxation response” (counterpart to fight-or-flight). This is when the body is relaxed and can more easily get in touch with its own natural ability to relax the body and mind, and to attain balance.
What to Expect:
Your treatment will be done in a peaceful relaxing setting, you can expect to be fully clothed lying on a massage table. The practitioner will place hands lightly on or over specific areas of the body and will typically keep their hands in each position for 3-5 minutes. Once the treatment is completed they will provide a few minutes to talk about your treatment and discuss findings.
