Moving in? Here is What You Need to Know:
Hyperlinks to necessary forms and documents: Hearst House Rules, Code of Conduct, Resident Agreement Form
Furnishing: The house has a limited quantity of desks, lamps, mattresses, bed frames and other furniture available on a first come first serve basis. If you find a furnishing you like but don't want to bring it immediately to your room, write your name on a piece of paper to and tape it on that item to claim it.
House Association: Resident meetings occur every couple weeks to coordinate cleaning and other House matters. House coordinators: Lilly Connel-Behrens and Sunja Goldhahn
Parking and Concerts: The Greek Theater has opened up again, and concerts are back in swing. The house typically sells parking during concerts and the funds go to the House Committee to fund our parties, trips and appliances for the house. Typically, 2 people work together to sell parking and if selling parking is successful, both people walk away with typically $20 (depends on the concert). Parking sellers must wear masks while engaging with people who want to park. Residents who have their cars in the parking lots will receive 3 notifications that they will need to move their cars. The emails will arrive ~ 24hrs, 12hrs, and 1 hr before we start selling parking. Residents who fail to move their car without communicating a valid reason for not moving will be charged the concert parking price. Residents may also opt to not move their cars and pay the concert parking fee.
The House Resident Association manages parking. Parking Spots are assigned to specific residents based largely on resident seniority. The House Resident Association also typically obtains a number of Berkeley street parking permits if needed. However, House parking is limited and membership in the House is not a guarantee of parking availability. Street parking in the neighborhood is limited: it is subject to a 2 hr limit (if no permit) on weekends, prohibited on street sweeping days and subject to additional limits such as UCB football "game days".
