We are pleased to welcome three experts in diverse aspects of interacting with data:
Michelle Levy, Storytelling with Humanities Data.
Michelle is a Professor in the Department of English and Co-Founder of the Digital Humanities Innovation Lab at Simon Fraser University. She specializes in the fields of Romantic literary history, media history, and women’s book history. Her recent books are the Broadview Introduction to Book History (co-authored with Tom Mole, 2017), Literary Manuscript Culture in Romantic Britain (Edinburgh University Press, 2020), and How and Why To do things with Eighteenth-Century Manuscripts (co-authored with Betty Schellenberg), forthcoming from Cambridge University Press later this year. She also directs The Women’s Print History Project, a comprehensive bibliographical database of women’s books.
Skye Moret, Collaborative Data-Driven Design.
Skye Morét is Chair of the Collaborative Design and Design Systems graduate programs at the Pacific Northwest College of Art at Willamette University. Jonathan Drummey, Considering Various Mental Models for Working with Data.
Jonathan is a data visualization specialist at PATH where he provides technical assistance and training in data wrangling and visualization for improving global health. He focuses on developing new approaches to strengthening analytical skills and effective data use. Prior to joining PATH Jonathan was the lead trainer and a consultant at DataBlick and a volunteer on the Visualize No Malaria partnership that includes Alteryx, PATH, the Tableau Foundation, and the Zambia Ministry of Health. He lives on the coast of Maine, USA.
