About Toastmasters Speech Contests:
Every year, Toastmasters Internationals organize Speech Contests - a playground for Toastmasters to experience speaking to an international audience, and to learn by observing proficient speakers around the world.

WHY SHOULD I JOIN TOASTMASTERS SPEECH CONTESTS?
No 1 : FAST-TRACK YOUR PUBLIC SPEAKING DEVELOPMENT
The competitiveness of the contest, the stated deadlines, expectation from yourself and others - all of these will give you a strong motivation to practice and advance vigorously in just a short time.
You will receive special training from experienced speakers (who were prior contestants) every time you advance further in the contest. You will also learn a lot from observing other skilled contestants.

WHAT ARE TOASTMASTERS SPEECH CONTESTS?
In 2023, District 97 (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam) will organize
3 types of Speech Contest - conducted 100% ONLINE (via Zoom)
Provisonal Speech Contest
Provisonal Speech Contest
A prepared speech, all contestants present a five- to seven- minute speech on any subject they choose.
Table Topics Contest
Table Topics Contest
An impromptu speech, all contestants are assigned the same topic, told to them when they are introduced by the contest chair.
Evaluation Contest
Evaluation Contest
Contestants observe a five-to seven-minute test speech and then present a two-to three-minute evaluation of the test speech.

A fundamental training which helps you to learn from the core of public speaking.
The trainer is TM Phung Huu Minh Hieu - a familiar figure for any contestant from HCM Toastmasters and Division V. He has helped our champions to built speeches with impact ad bring pride to Toastmasters Vietnam for many years. This year, it's your turn to be trained by TM Minh Hieu!

Step 3 : JOIN OUR "MOCK" SPEECH CONTEST on FEB 18th, 2023 (ONLINE)
Mock contests are conducted by HCM Toastmasters with the aim to help future contetstants:
Understand about the procedure for each type of contest (so you can feel more confident in the real contest)
Learn about judging criteria of each contest (to know what you should focus on in preparing your performance).
Level up your pathway (if you choose prepared speech and need to finish Level 2 to be eligible)
Even if you don't want to participate in the real contest this year, you can join Mock contest for experience too!
