Through my survey, I first tried to find out if students are using technological tools significantly more than paper based tools. The results show that while students still use a mixture of both technological and paper based tools, technological tools are definitely crucial for academic success in college today. All six of the survey participants were first semester freshmen, and half of them stated that their biggest challenge in college so far has been related to classes. That makes sense since college courses are a big adjustment from high school, and having to take classes largely online is another added challenge. However, I was somewhat surprised that only one participant listed social life as their biggest challenge, because that's an aspect of college that is currently limited and restricted due to COVID-19. If I were to do this survey again in the future, I would be more clear about what I meant by technology related tool, or make that question multiple choice, so that I would have some more specific answers about what technology related tools the participants use most frequently for college learning (because some of the answers were generic).
