Start with Patrick Kirch's book on Hawaiian archaeology called "Feathered Gods and Fishhooks : An Introduction to Hawaiian Archaeology and Prehistory." It is everywhere and not expensive. There are various editions and they are all fine to read. He is a very accessible writer, but this is written from the perspective of a traditional archaeologist.
There are no books specifically on the archaeology of the Island of Hawaii, but there are some great websites provided by various organizations at the state and federal level.
