Board meetings

Open to the entire community, take place on Fridays from 4:30 - 5 PM in the Women's Center in the Canaday B basement.

Aarti/Discussion

Aarti takes place every Friday at 5 PM in the Prayer Space. Discussion usually follows. Discussion topics, selected by our Discussion Chairs, relate to contemporary issues faced by South Asians and Hindus in India and abroad.

Community Dinners

After Discussion, we head to a dining hall to eat dinner together.

Gita Discussions

Gita Discussions, led by Swami Tyagananda, happen every Monday from 4 PM to 5 PM in the Prayer Space. We provide the books, and always welcome new members.

CHYK (Chinmaya Yuva Kendra)

Discussions happen every Thursday from 7:30 PM to 9 PM in the Prayer Space. They are a chance to discuss Hindu philosophy as taught by Swami Chinmayananda. Contact Kushi Mallikarjun (kmallikarjun@college.harvard.edu) for more information.

Y2Y Volunteering

Dharma participates in the interfaith shift at the Y2Y homeless shelter in Harvard Square on Mondays from 6:45 PM to 8:45 PM. Contact us at harvarddharma@gmail.com to find out more and volunteer.

Special Events

Diwali

Dharma's Diwali event is a unique celebration of the Hindu Festival of Lights. Following a traditional puja, we enjoy a dinner cooked by the Dharma seniors in the residence of the Mather Faculty Deans. Open to all.

Senior Tea

Dharma's Senior Tea provides us with a special opportunity to appreciate our graduating seniors with games, slideshows, and shoutouts.

Holi

Holi, the Hindu festival of colors, is a riotous celebration of the arrival of spring.

Hungama

Dharma puts on this Raas/Garba event to celebrate the end of the Hindu festival of Navratri, which celebrates female incarnations of the divine. The event also features a Bollywood/Bhangra component, and is attended by students of all backgrounds.

Temple Trips

Dharma organizes excursions to temples both near and far to support Hindu students in practicing their religion.
