Although the first Hare Krsna tree was established by Srila Prabhupada many years ago, the Hare Krsna Tree (HKT) project, the systematic establishment of Hare Krsna trees, is actually very young. Therefore devotees often ask us what is the significance of this system, what is its purpose, vision and many other things.
Here are the answers to these frequently asked questions:
1. Is HKT part of ISKCON?
The answer must be YES. If we are referring to a movement whose founder, spiritual master and highest authority is Srila Prabhupad. Who established the first Hare Krsna tree and encouraged his disciples to continue chanting Hare Krsna together.
2. What is the uniqueness of the HKT project?
The local HKT group is a tribe, a fraternity, a spiritual family that provides its members with the facilities and support on the path of bhakti-yoga that Srila Prabhupad describes and transmits to us.
At tribal council meetings we have ample time to talk with each other, share our experiences in applying Srila Prabhupada's teachings, and establish relationships with other devotees in a friendly atmosphere.
In leading the tribe we practice the principle of the the way of Council. This method of decision making allows an open communication among the participants. And this communication continues until everyone involved agrees on a specific decision.
This method ensures that all participants are satisfied with the decisions that the tribal council makes . And so the whole tribe supports these collective decisions and works together to fulfill them.
3. How can I join HKT.
If you like the Hare Krsna Tree project. It is the voice of Shree Krsna in your heart guiding you in this direction, just as this voice is guiding us. He will also give you the best advice on how you can help us create this project.
Simply write to us at any of the addresses in thetree list and share with us your journey home Back to the Godhead.
We can then share with you the experience, practice and vision that creating HKT brings.
