Puppies at Happy Heart Homestead

Our puppies are thoughtfully planned, raised inside our home, and given the best possible start in life. We maintain a very small breeding program and do not have puppies available year-round. Each litter is carefully considered with health, temperament, and long-term family fit in mind.

Our puppies are raised in our family home, where they are exposed to everyday sights, sounds, and routines from the very beginning. They are handled daily, introduced to children, and given age-appropriate experiences that help build confidence and resilience.

We focus heavily on temperament, early socialization, and producing puppies that transition smoothly into both active and family environments.

Each puppy goes home with a thoughtfully prepared care package to support a smooth transition into their new home. We believe those first few weeks matter, and we do everything we can to set both puppies and families up for success.

Each puppy goes home with:

• A personalized care package

• A weight tracking and schedule sheet to help families monitor growth and routines

• A comfort item that carries the scent of their mother and littermates to ease the transition

• Written guidance on feeding, routines, and early care

All puppies receive appropriate veterinary care before going home. Each puppy is seen by our veterinarian for their first wellness exam and receives age-appropriate vaccinations and deworming.

Families receive an official veterinary record documenting their puppy’s first visit, including vaccines administered, deworming schedule, and overall health check.

Our breeding dogs complete health testing appropriate for the Golden Retriever breed, including orthopedic and genetic screening. We believe responsible breeding begins long before puppies are born and continues throughout their lives.

We do not allow early puppy picking based on color or markings alone. Puppies are evaluated for temperament as they grow, and we work closely with families to help place each puppy in the home that best fits their personality and needs.

Because we are a small program, availability is limited and planned in advance. Families interested in future litters are encouraged to reach out early. Deposits are accepted only once a litter is confirmed.

Puppies bred at Happy Heart Homestead are always welcome back to us if a family’s circumstances change. We are committed to every puppy we produce for their lifetime.
