Bellingham neighborhood association presidents and representatives to the Mayor’s Neighborhood Advisory Commission, thank you for your important service to our community, and special thanks to the Fairhaven and King Mountain neighborhood and The Village at Cordata for welcoming us to your November meeting!

The monthly preparedness topic for December is your Home Hazard Hunt

Overview for Neighborhood Representatives

The majority of injuries resulting from earthquakes are due to falling objects, not structural failure. A home hazard hunt is the first step toward identifying and correcting these vulnerabilities. From strapping your water heater and confirming flexible to connections to appliances, to relocating or securing heavy or glass objects on high shelves, to fastening tall pieces of furniture to walls, every corrective action reduces our exposure to injury during an earthquake.

280 Character Verbiage for Twitter/Short Messages

Is your home earthquake safe? A home hazard hunt allows the entire household to get involved, to learn about earthquakes, find and correct potential safety hazards, and be prepared to make it through the next quake.
