Hi, Happy Valley folks --
As we’ve discussed at MNAC meetings, Mayor Fleetwood has approved your Small and Simple grant proposal, along with 12 other projects, and we are working on getting written agreements in place so you all can get started.
Attached for your review and neighborhood president or treasurer signature is your neighborhood’s draft agreement. This is the written agreement that is signed between the City and each neighborhood that is receiving a Small and Simple grant. The agreement must be in place (signed by all parties) before the City can reimburse for eligible expenses.
Please review it carefully and let us know if you have any questions or concerns. If it meets your expectations, please have it signed by the appropriate neighborhood leader and return it to our office. Tracy, copied above, or I can answer any follow up questions you may have. You may return the signed agreement in hard copy to our office at City Hall, or scan and return via email. We will sign it and return an electronic copy to you. Tracy also will follow up with you/your neighborhood reps if there are other outstanding documents needed from your neighborhood.
You are well on your way to an interesting and successful neighborhood project! As a reminder, our grant approval and this agreement does not eliminate the need for you to seek appropriate permits, permissions and other approvals. These steps will be particularly important for this project, which is unique among the projects proposed by neighborhoods this year. Tracy and I are here to help, so please don’t hesitate to reach out. We look forward to working with you on it.
Best,
Janice

n the details of this agreement there seems to be language implying that I canning be reimbursed until the completion and site approval and, likely, the installation as well.
This clearly isn’t helpful to me — I’m spending money right now to build a thing that won’t be done for a year.
Janice and I are looking for a workable solution to this.
Ignore this draft, in other words, and we can sign something later if the City figures it out.
