Happy Valley Street Tree Planting Party on December 2nd
What: Happy Valley Neighborhood Association (HVNA) has a free street tree program for Happy Valley Neighborhood residents. Since 1999, HVNA volunteers have been dedicated to planting street trees to increase the tree canopy in the neighborhood. We guide the residents on proper selection, planting, and long-term care and maintenance by providing supplies to assist participants in staking and tree watering.
Date: Saturday, Dec 2nd
Time: 9:30 Orientation, Training, Hot Drinks and Donuts
10 am-2 pm—Dig holes, plant, stake, and spread mulch for 21 street trees
12:30 pm pizza for lunch
Where: Meet on the corner of Larrabee Ave and 18th St, 1802 Larrabee, lunch across the street at the Larrabee School gazebo
Bring: Gloves, shovel, (plus flat shovels), and rakes (for spreading mulch); plus “dress for the weather” (boots, hat, raingear)
