The attached lesson was created during my special education placement with a group of 2 students. The lesson involved reading a story and throughout the story I was asking questions that would spark a discussion. I tried to ask them questions that would really get them thinking with the goal ultimately being comprehension of the story.
This lesson was from my 3rd grade general education placement. At this time, we had just learned all about adjectives, so we were reviewing all the different types that we had learned. I wrote a short passage that had so many adjectives in it. I read the passage to the students and they had to tell me which words were adjectives. I would question them about which type of adjective it was and the question then about they they knew this. This process was repeated through the whole passage. At the end of the lesson, I handed the students a chart that had 3 three columns. I would say a type of adjective, and the students would have to give me examples based on this type of adjective. Questioning and discussion was needed throughout this lesson as a way to guide all of the students thinking and so they they would really explain themselves in their responses.
