Goals and Objectives
The goals and objectives found below are influenced by the ALA's Core Competencies of Librarianship and the ACRL Standards for Libraries in Higher Education.
Goal 1: Use my MLIS degree and Data Analytics certificate to develop a set of skills that will be beneficial in my future career.
Objective 1: Design a plan of core and elective courses that benefit my strengths and help me address my weaknesses.
Objective 2: Use my certificate required courses as building blocks to create a distinctive set of skills.
Objective 3: Learn how to incorporate my data analytics knowledge into the profession of academic librarianship.
Goal 2: Develop research and information literacy skills that can be used during instruction sessions.
Objective 1: Develop skills to identify credible and scholarly information.
Objective 2: Observe instructions sessions conducted by well-trained librarians.
Objective 3: Research and implement teaching tactics that are proven beneficial to higher educational settings.
Goal 3: Maintain up to date knowledge on new technology and resources that can benefit university students and staff/faculty.
Objective 1: Become acquainted with and use library technology for as much course work as possible.
Objective 2: Participate in any webinars that are revolved around new or up and coming technology in library settings.
Objective 3: Learn more about resources that are beneficial to and geared toward online students.
