As part of my role at HalalXpert, I am involved in academic, simulated, and consultancy-based projects that focus on halal compliance, food safety, and quality assurance within the food supply chain.
SELECTED PROJECT & CASE WORK
Developed a structured Halal Compliance Checklist to assist small and medium food businesses in identifying halal-critical areas related to ingredients, processing, hygiene, storage, and logistics. This checklist serves as a practical guide to improve halal readiness and quality control practices.
Conducted a case study on ingredient verification by reviewing food additives and processing aids with potential halal concerns, such as emulsifiers, flavourings, and enzymes. The project focused on identifying halal risk levels and recommending appropriate control measures to ensure compliance.
Participated in a simulated assessment of food handling and processing environments, focusing on cleanliness, sanitation, and cross-contamination risks. The findings were documented and aligned with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and basic HACCP principles.
Analyzed selected food supply chain scenarios to evaluate halal integrity during transportation, storage, and handling. The project emphasized segregation practices, traceability, and ethical considerations in halal logistics.
