About Me

BACKGROUND

Hello! I am Georganne Hageman. I am a wife, mother of two, graduate student, educator, and coach. I grew up in Kalamazoo, Michigan where I did my undergraduate studies at Western Michigan University. As stated in my resume, I worked for two years at St. Augustine Cathedral School before I got married and moved to Sylvania, Ohio. While living there, I worked another two years at St. Joseph School.

My husband's job brought us to Minneapolis, Minnesota, in July 2016, which is where we now reside. I am currently working as a stay-at-home mom of two beautiful babes, Cora and Liam. I hope to return to the field as an administrator once my kids begin their journey through school.

Me with my husband, Ryan, daughter, Cora (2.5 years), and son, Liam (1 year).

INTERESTS

I have vacationed to Wolf Lake Ranch for about 15 years to ride horses through the Manistee National Forest in northern Michigan.

When I am not being a mom, I like to run, sew, read, or do anything involving crafts. I am a horse rider as well as a tennis and volleyball player and coach. With my family, I enjoy traveling, hiking, and spending as much time outdoors as possible.

I am enjoying the Minnesota outdoors more and more. My husband and I have done a lot of camping, canoeing, and fishing around the Minneapolis area, as well as the Boundary Waters Canoe Area in northern Minnesota. We hope to spend more time traveling out west to see some national parks while we live so close!

FUTURE GOALS

Teaching has long been a passion of mine. Since starting my master's degree through Michigan State University, I have become especially interested in how teachers learn best. I have seen so much aversion to change simply based on a lack of support and proper education, that I feel there is a better way administrators can approach teacher learning.

When I return to the workforce, I hope to be an administrator who uses what I have learned from the classroom and furthering my education, to guide and direct teacher learning. I hope to create environments that smooth transitions of change for staff personnel and become a mentor that walks with teachers through their path of learning. See my Goal Essay for more details.
